Güigüe Abbey

Güigüe Abbey or St. Joseph's Abbey, Güigüe, is a Benedictine monastery located in Güigüe, to the south of the Valencia Lake in Carabobo, Venezuela.

History

On 2 April 1923 German monks arrived in Venezuela and founded a community . The congregation was declared a conventual priory on 16 June 1947. On 7 December 1964 the priory was granted the status of an abbey. They moved to Güigüe on 22 September 1990.
